Tourism Flanders Sector Event 2024

Networking on rails.

On June 20, 2024, we once again had the opportunity to work with Tourism Flanders, this time at Train World in Schaerbeek. The challenge was to organize a sector event for 350 participants where networking would not feel like an obligation, but like a true experience. And in a railway museum, the solution was right there: we quite literally went on a journey.

Switching tracks to new connections.

We transformed the venue into a real train station. Different “platforms,” each with their own bites and atmosphere. On every platform, “carriages” brought small groups together. Participants received a personal badge with their individual program, based on the bites they selected in advance. This guided them to the right platforms and carriages. No standard networking round, but a tailor made journey where everyone followed their own route.

Train signal? time to change tracks.

In each carriage, people were randomly grouped together. Two “conductors” guided the sessions, and at every train signal, everyone moved on to a new platform. Three rotations, three sets of new faces, three different conversations. No one stayed in the same place for too long, which kept the energy high. The original networking format proved to be a great success.
