From 11 to 13 March 2024, 400 participants from across Europe and beyond gathered at the Provincial Government Building of Flemish Brabant for the Open Food Conference.

The Agency for Agriculture and Fisheries had a clear mission. After four years of the Farm to Fork Strategy and the Flemish Food Strategy, it was time to take stock. What worked? What did not? And how do we shape the next chapter?

With Belgium holding the rotating EU Presidency at the time, the moment was right to bring everyone to the table.

3 days, 27 sessions.

The programme was packed. Twenty seven thematic sessions ran in parallel, ranging from panel discussions to interactive workshops.

Site visits, innovative pitches and a food market added variety. Participants represented every level, from local to European: academics, NGOs, industry leaders and policymakers. Anyone with a stake in sustainable food systems had a seat at the table.

Three Flemish departments joined forces to make it happen. We were proud to support them along the way.

Our work started long before day one. We developed the communication and registration flow, designed the event branding and managed the website.

During the three conference days, we coordinated breakout sessions, supported speakers and directed the AV teams.

This allowed the client to focus on what truly mattered: the content and the conversations. From preparation to closing moment, we made sure everything ran smoothly.
