Event producer An Moors: “Physical or online event, everything depends on the right location”

Content and design of both physical and online events are two crucial elements. While our in-house stylist Eveline already gave some tips on furnishing and decor, Event Producer An underlines the importance of the right location. What should you pay attention to when choosing your event location?

“To push you a bit in the right direction anyway, I’ll give you 5 important tips when choosing a location.”

1. ALL-IN (OR NOT?)

“With physical events, it is important to check whether all costs are included in the standard rental price. For example, energy costs or mounting points are often variable and can provide a significant extra cost. With online events, on the other hand, it is important to check whether the power supply and especially internet capacity are sufficient.”

2. SUSTAINABILITY

“These days, sustainability is an important factor. Therefore, check beforehand whether the venue has a sustainability label and ask what efforts they are making to reduce their ecological footprint. Be critical in this respect so that it does not just remain window dressing.”

“THE LOCATION OF YOUR EVENT IMMEDIATELY TELLS A LOT ABOUT YOUR CORPORATE IDENTITY.”

3. DARE TO ASK

“Clients often like to fix the venue themselves. No problem, but preferably always consult your event partner first so we can check that nothing has been overlooked and it is the most suitable location for your event.”

4. TIME MANAGEMENT

“Allow sufficient time for set-up and rehearsal. A build-up day is often not a luxury and ensures that everyone is relaxed and well prepared to start the event.”

5. ACCESSIBILITY

“Pay attention to the accessibility of your venue, especially for disabled people or a slightly older target audience. This is obviously especially important for a physical event, i.e. presence of a lift or ramp for wheelchair users, etc. In addition, this is also important for the set-up itself. Is there a goods lift? Is there an unloading and loading dock?”

Of course, there are countless other things you can (and even should) take into account when organising an event, be it a physical or online happening. Feel free to pull on my virtual (one and a half metres, you know!) sleeve and contact me on LinkedIn. 🙂
