VDAB Site Office Opening: A Building Block for the Future.

On Tuesday 10 September, the new temporary VDAB training location was officially opened: The Werfkeet, located on Vlijtstraat in Antwerp. This site serves as the foundation for several construction training programmes, including road construction, formwork carpentry, roofing, scaffolding and construction site machinery operation.

All of this is part of the ‘Jobs in De Grote Verbinding’ (JiDGV) partnership, an initiative aimed at training more people for a future in the construction sector.

VDAB entrusted us with organising the official opening of The Werfkeet for partners, press and distinguished guests. For an event centred around building, craftsmanship and collaboration, it was essential for us to bring that theme to life in every detail.

The arch hall on site was fully decorated in theme: standing tables made from scaffolding pipes, robust blue barrels and large photo panels highlighting the different professions. This made the connection with the sector tangible and visually striking.

A symbolic opening moment.

We created an original and meaningful opening ritual. Instead of cutting a traditional ribbon, we immortalised the official opening date of The Werfkeet on four paving stones, together with the key stakeholders. During the ceremony, these stones were carefully placed in the ground at the entrance of the arch hall — a lasting symbol of this important milestone.

At the VDAB Werfkeet Opening, an important foundation was laid, a vision was strengthened, and above all, a moment of genuine connection was created.
