Opening of de Werfkeet for VDAB: A Building Block for the Future.

On Tuesday, September 10, VDAB officially inaugurated its new temporary training facility: De Werfkeet, located on Vlijtstraat in Antwerp. This site serves as the foundation for various construction training programs, including Roadworks, Formwork, Roofing, Scaffolding, and Construction Site Machinery. All of this is part of the ‘Jobs in De Grote Verbinding’ (JiDGV) partnership, an initiative aimed at training more individuals for a future in the construction sector.

For an event centered around construction, craftsmanship, and collaboration, it was crucial for us to bring that theme to life in every detail. VDAB entrusted us with organizing the official opening of De Werfkeet for partners, the press, and key stakeholders, and we went all-in on creating an immersive experience.

The venue’s arched hall was fully styled to reflect the construction theme: high tables made from scaffolding pipes, sturdy blue barrels, and large photo panels showcasing various trades. This made the connection to the industry tangible and visual.

A Symbolic Opening Moment.

We crafted a unique and meaningful opening ceremony. Instead of the traditional ribbon-cutting, we engraved the official opening date of De Werfkeet onto four paving stones, alongside the key stakeholders. During the ceremony, these stones were carefully placed into the ground at the entrance of the arched hall—a lasting symbol of this significant milestone.

At the Opening of De Werfkeet for VDAB, a solid foundation was laid, a vision reinforced, and above all, a connecting moment created.
