To reinvigorate the boring concept of ‘Christmas cards’, we had to do something special.
Live streaming our Christmas wishes on Facebook? Yeah! With a miniature Christmas village in the background? Check! And something involving guinea pigs? Absurd!
But 100% true.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we were visited by six guinea pigs that spend their days in an animal shelter. The guinea pigs spent two weeks in our Christmas village – snowy mountain tops, miniature houses and Christmas lights included. All of the guinea pigs’ activities were broadcasted live on Facebook during the two weeks. In the background, people could see our Christmas message: “Sylvester wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Surely one for the Guinea’s Book of Records!”
The comings and goings of our guinea pigs were enthusiastically followed on social media. The highlight? An immaculate conception (oops), resulting in the totally unexpected birth of baby guinea pig. Hooray!
